HEY GUYS! (PSA TIME) Does anyone have serious questions about how to do something?

IF YOU HAVE CONSTRUCTION QUESTIONS/ WIG QUESTIONS/ WHERE DID YOU GET xyz item? QUESTIONS:

Please please PLEASE NOTE OR E-MAIL ME.

I can be reached faster by one of these means:

* via e mail at "justafroginthewell" at g mail dot comm.

* via AIM at impureimpulse, (I'm usually connected but AFK, I check messages periodically, but make sure you identify yourself as someone with a cosplay question and that you're from dA in your first message, I block all unidentified messages as spambots).

* via a PM or comment at my ACP account on [link]

Please do not leave serious questions in comments if you want a timely response. I check my comments all at once, and very infrequently, since I try to respond to them when I have the time, which is rarely these days. Think once a month or less frequency. There is a relative chance I will actually see and have a chance to respond to a note or any of the other means of contacting me listed above, but I just can't answer cosplay questions left in dA comments due to time constraints.

There are also some questions I am just unable to answer well, or that you might have better luck simply googling for a tutorial, but I'll try to help out if I can. If I get a ton of requests for the same information, I may try my hand at making some tutorials.

Thank you!
So *linefaced and I are looking to get rid of 13 wigs between us, including a few that are brand new but at a discount.

Hey there, dA.

It's been a while since I've updated here, but I've tried to put my efforts into taking cosplay photos and remembering to upload them here, rather than being timely in any journal posts.

Since previous updates, *linefaced and I have been up to the following:

* Finished Magatsu Izanagi, made of the originals remains, which puts regular Izanagi back on the construction list.

* Made a few more casual versions of P4 characters.

* Bought some wigs to try to re-vamp some of my older Ace Attorney cosplays, when I can.

* Picked up the games Catherine and Persona 3/ P3P, cosplayed from the first, and begun gathering materials for costumes of the second.

* Introduced my childhood friend's 10 year old daughter/ my "niece" to the world of Cosplay by taking her to Anime Destiny in Berkeley and putting together a Maka (Soul Eater) cosplay for her. Next up will be Nanako from P4.

* Organized a P4 shoot with a full investigation team at Yaoi-con in Millbrae.

*[AS AN IMPORTANT NOTE]: Given that this con is moving to So-Cal, and the destructive immaturity level of some of the attendees seems to be dropping steadily, we will likely no longer attend this convention in the future.

Too many people were using it as an excuse to drink to excess, destroy hotel property, and generally behave poorly. And uh... TMI, but we very nearly got vomited on by some wasted Link cosplayer while trying to do our "Yasogami 'girls'" photoshoot. His 'brilliant' friends decided walking him down the hall from the dance to a faraway bathroom was preferable to taking him to the nearest trash can. He got... copiously sick (an understatement) entirely too close to us, and his friends let go of him and nearly dropped him down the flight of stairs. We had an emetephobic friend who was nearby, and several people who feel ill after being near that sort of thing. Not to mention: photoshoot = OVER!

I used to love Yaoi-con for the more adult atmosphere and higher maturity of the attendees, but the behavior of some of the (other adults!) around us in the past two years has been really disappointing. As someone who tries to be fairly well-behaved in public (especially when other non-convention related people are around / staying in the con hotel), I try to make a good impression of our hobby out in the 'real world', and being associated with people like the few badly behaved congoers there this year makes me not want to go back. I've been attending this con for a long time, and I'll miss it, but the exorbitant costs and the prospect of having to drop whatever I'm doing to help some vomit-covered moron who's fallen and injured himself, just because of my obligation as an EMT to help--- is really off-putting. I'd still do it, but I shouldn't have to in the first place.

* [ON A HAPPIER NOTE]: Now that we've very likely dropped one of our major cons of the year, we've got a sort of opening, and have decided to be absolutely crazy and:

Go to KatsuCon in Washington D.C. instead.

We've never been to an out of state con, much less an East coast con. So, I'm pretty excited! If you're going to be there yourself and see us, please say hi. :)

Hey Pulse, Line linked me to your profile here when I chatted with her over Skype when we discussed cosplays and such. Just recently got into "Persona 4"...

If this seems random, it probably is. I found the "Ask the Investigation Team" blog and just had to reach out to you two somehow when I saw all the fantastic cosplays. :)

Anyways, I wish you the best,
Jovan

Oh man. I'm sort of wondering if I should link to the askblog here or not. I probably should? That's one of those things I'm really excited about until I realize I'm sending myself making dumb faces out into the wild lands of the internet.

Persona 4 is pretty cool if I do say so myself, and more fans is always good.

Looking forward to seeing you and your gf's cosplays, and thank you. :)

You should! Like Ask Yu Narukami, you two are totally adorable. Well... apart from Adachi's recent, creepy advice. Is it bad that I sort of enjoyed him getting pelted in the face with cabbage? (That was pretty well done, I have to say.)

Persona 4 fans are some of the nicest people I've met recently, though fortunesrevolver (a Naoto RP blogger and one of the aforementioned people) seems a little frustrated with the fandom from time to time. Being a Trekkie, I know the feeling.

We already have a few non-Persona cosplays if you're interested, it's at her profile: ~The-Keeper-Thief Going to debut our Black Butler set at Albuquerque Comic Expo soon. No pictures of my Sebastian yet, but there are of her fantastic Ciel.

Anyways, thanks for the reply! :)
